Help our staff provide you with great customer service by being aware of the policies in our customer handbook. You can find the handbook online or pick one up at the front desk. Please review our winter-related policies below.  

Winter Weather Policy

It's time for snow and cold in Wisconsin. Any closing will be listed on WISN 12, on the Altius website, and our Facebook page. During inclement weather, please check our website to see if we are open instead of calling the gym. 

Generally, we try to keep Altius open as much as possible. Since most of our classes are in the afternoon or evening, we don't necessarily follow school district closings, as the roads may be clear by the afternoon depending on the timing of the storm. We also don't have a need to factor children walking/waiting outside and busing logistics into our decision. We DO consider driving conditions for both our customers and our staff.

If Altius stays open and you feel uncomfortable traveling to a class in the weather conditions, you are welcome to schedule a makeup or request an open gym pass good for KinderTime, Family, or Grade School Open Gyms via the front desk.

In the case of Altius closing due to extreme weather conditions, we email open gym passes to recreational students who miss class. Per our customer handbook, Altius does not offer refunds, credits, or make-ups for extreme weather cancellations. In the rare case that we cancel on the same day TWICE in one season, we will issue account credits to the affected customers. 

Winter Clothing

Children are welcome to wear sweatshirts, pants, & socks during the warm-up portion of the class. Any clothing must be discarded before classes start their events. As always, please make sure hair is pulled back in a tight ponytail or braid.

Illness Policy

Please help our students (and coaches) stay healthy by keeping sick children home from class. Children who come to class with a severe runny nose or persistent cough will be sent to the office to call home. We are happy to schedule a makeup for your child when they are feeling better! 

Promotions 

Altius classes are divided by both age and skill level. When your child reaches the appropriate age and demonstrates skill proficiency, a promotion letter is sent home in the mail. If you are unable to switch classes, our coaches will challenge your child with more difficult skills in his/her current class.

Congratulations Girl's Level 4 Team!

Our Junior Olympic Level 4 Team competed in the Wisconsin State Championships on December 7 in Appleton. Altius thanks all of our team families for their hard work and dedication to the sport of gymnastics!

Boys, Xcel, and Girl's Optional Teams Prepare for Competitions

Over 60 athletes are preparing for their upcoming competition season. Altius is hosting the first Boy's meet of the season this Sunday, December 15! Girls Xcel and Optional Teams have their "practice" meet at Altius on Friday, December 20. These gymnasts work toward to opportunity to qualify for Regional and National Championships in April.
